As I was walking around Jamaica Pond one Sunday evening, playing with my camera, the nearly full moon popped up. So, out of nearly 160 pictures, two of three actually turned out decent. I tried a little post to enhance the contrasts and whatnot, but the raw image looks better to me no matter what. The EXIF data let me down, but this was probably taken with no more than a 1/3 stop underexposure.
Strangely enough, though, this picture was one of many that were taken without stabilizing the camera against anything else. I just got lucky, especially with the cold wind and all that, but I just keep shooting and hope one picture is decent. (That's why I have two 8 GB cards and spare batteries. ) I'll get a portable tripod again at some point and use the self-timer for great stability.
